ACC to investigate allegation of money laundering by Zia family Quader

first_imgAL general secretary Obaidul QuaderRuling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday said the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will investigate the “allegation of siphoning money by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia and her family members”.“Different media outlets have reported that Khaleda Zia has siphoned money to 12 countries,” claimed Quader while speaking at a discussion meeting in the capital.AL’s volunteers’ wing Swechchhasebak League organised the discussion at capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue marking the Victory Day.Also the road transport and bridges minister, Quader said the media’s responsibility is to investigate the allegation of money laundering by the Zia family.“Prime minister Sheikh Hasina didn’t make a shot in the dark without knowing the information,” the minister claimed.Calling on the ACC to launch an investigation into the allegation, the minister said, “I’ve called on the ACC [to launch the investigation]. first_imgA minor girl of class one was allegedly raped by one of her neighbours at Kakura village in Baniachong upazila of Habiganj on Friday night, reports UNB.The victim was sent to Sadar Hospital and later shifted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College as her condition worsened.Locals said the child was playing in front of her house on Friday night while Jahangir Mia, 20, son of Arjot Ali of same village allured her to a nearby bush where he violated her.Later, hearing scream, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the girl, while the alleged rapist managed to flee from the spot.Officer-in-charge of Baniachong police station Rashed Mobarak said a team of police were working to arrest the offender.last_img

In Texas, lawmakers cannot take up legislation for votes on the House or Senate floor in the first 60 days of the session unless it is germane to one of the governor’s emergency items.
