It was a typical hot and humid day at Brothers, and the hosts took on the other early season flyers Southern Stars in both Men’s and Women’s Premier Divisions.Before the commencement of the game, a moments’ silence was held for two of the Perth Brothers community who tragically died during the week. Touch West and Touch Football Australia offer their deepest condolences to Brothers Women’s Open Captain / Coach Taima Komene whose husband Daren passed away. In the Men’s, Perth Brothers made their intentions clear from the tap off with Richie Anderson scoring one of his three touchdowns for the match off the opening set of six. Southern replied almost immediately with Simon Gregg going over in the corner after a well-executed sweep. The match went from end to end for the remainder of the half with quality driving and defence by both teams. Southern managed to bridge their 3-2 halftime deficit and record a deserving 6 all draw. The match was of the highest quality and all look forward to the repeat clash in Round 8. In the Women’s competition, Perth Brothers got off to an outstanding start, going to the break with a 5-3 lead over Southern.
