first_imgSarajevo – The training camp with 17 Bosnian juniors, organized by the Tennis academy NTA in Sarajevo started.The theme of the camp is “Mental preparation of the players” and the objective is to adopt new skills of mental preparation for the matches.The camp will be realised through specific forms of tennis training, presentations and video analysis.The leader of the camp is Aleš Filipčić from Slovenia, the head of the tennis department at the Sports Faculty in Ljubljana and the Head of the Experts boards of the Tennis Union in Slovenia and lecturer at the ITF courses for coaches. – was announced from the NTA Tennis Academy.(Source: Fena / photo: nta.ba)last_img

Women’s Tennis Travels to Omaha, Saturday

first_imgNorth Dakota (0-1) fell to Sacramento State last weekend to open their season and will travel to face Creighton Friday before playing Drake. Omaha (2-2) went 1-2 last weekend with a sweeping victory over William Jewel, a 2-5 loss to UMKC and a narrow 3-4 loss against Creighton. Omaha will host Missouri State Friday before facing off against Drake.   Bulldog senior Tess Herder and Petushkova swept the Missouri Valley Conference women’s tennis weekly awards. Petushkova was selected as the MVC Singles Player of the Week for Jan. 30 after improving to 3-0 over the weekend while Herder and Petushkova helped the Bulldogs sweep doubles on the weekend with a 6-1 victory over South Dakota and a 6-4 victory over Augustana. DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women’s tennis team is set to travel to Omaha, Neb. to face off against Omaha and North Dakota on Saturday, Feb. 3. Drake will open up against Omaha at 11 a.m. before facing North Dakota at 4 p.m.  Print Friendly Version The Bulldogs will return home on Feb. 9 to take on Milwaukee at 1 p.m. in the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. Drake (3-0) continued its strong opening to 2018 with wins over South Dakota and Augustana last weekend. The Bulldogs took a 5-2 victory over South Dakota after sweeping the doubles point while senior Summer Brills, freshman Liza Petushkova and juniors Joely Lomas and Kenya Williams picked up singles wins.
