Letterkenny schools asked to stagger opening times to ease traffic

first_img Google+ Schools in the centre of Letterkenny are being asked to consider staggering their opening and closing times to ease traffic congestion. The issue was raised by Cllr Gerry Mc Monagle, who says there are over 2,000 pupils attending the four schools clustered around the cathedral area, and there are very dangerous conditions in the area as a result. The council is to contact the schools, as well as look at other traffic management issues.Cllr Mc Monagle acknowledges that the idea would pose difficulties, not least with buses and families with children in more than one school. However, he says there is a very serious problem, and everyone has a responsibility to address it:[podcast]http://www.highlandradio.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/gmsco830Skool.mp3[/podcast] Twitter Guidelines for reopening of hospitality sector published Twitter Facebook Pinterest By News Highland – September 13, 2012 WhatsApp Previous articleA5 road project to dominate Oireachtas Committee meetingNext articleEmergency Department takes up new home at Letterkenny General News Highland Google+ Calls for maternity restrictions to be lifted at LUH center_img News RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Three factors driving Donegal housing market – Robinson Pinterest 448 new cases of Covid 19 reported today Help sought in search for missing 27 year old in Letterkenny NPHET ‘positive’ on easing restrictions – Donnelly Facebook WhatsApp Letterkenny schools asked to stagger opening times to ease trafficlast_img read more
