STAG Nations CUP KO Football – Den Amstel and Northern Rangers advance after match day 3

first_img…Tucville ground to host day 4 double-header today;DAY four rivalry in the STAG Nations Cup knock-out football championship is set for the Tucville ground this evening when three City sides and one from the East Bank will be showcasing their skills. The opening match at 18:00hrs will see East Bank’s number two side, Herstelling Raiders matching skills with Santos for the third available spot in the quarter-finals;the first two having been decided last evening at the #5 ground, West Coast Berbice.Tonight’s feature match is an all Georgetown affair between Western Tigers and Flamingo who had defeated Mahaicony Thunders in the first match of the tournament, thanks to the best goal of the championship so far which came off the boot of elder statesman, Shem Porter.Porter will be relishing the chance to lead his side to another win but will surely know that coming up against the Tigers is not easy and they will have to bring the A+ game to the field in order to create a huge upset.Dwayne Ali will be leading Western’s quest to move one step closer to the championship match as all the other teams will be harbouring similar thoughts. In results from match day 3 which was contested at the Leonora Track and Field Facility on Friday evening last, home team Den Amstel eased to a 4-2 win over Kuru Kururu Warriors while City side Northern Rangers pummeled West Dem’s Young Achievers, 7-0.Both Den Amstel and Northern Rangers have eased into the round-of-16 which kicked off last night in Berbice.Den Amstel was led to the win compliments of double strikes each from Gavin Graham (27, 71min) and Kevaughn Ward (31, 72min). The Warriors was able to draw level on account of goals from Oliver Denny (44min) and Collin Messiah (48min) but the home team pulled away again and never looked back.Northern Rangers was large and in charge from the first whistle against an ordinary looking Young Achievers side which is based in Pouderoyen on the West Bank.Steven Sankar led the Rangers with a brace (3min, 55min) whilst there was one apiece for Telfon Daley (23min), Devon Caesar (46min), Stephon Reynolds (57min), Colin Clark (60min) and Sunil Logan (83min).Wednesday,the penultimate day of the round-of-16,will see teams battling again at the Leonora Track and Field Facility where Pouderoyen (West Dem.) tackle Mahaica Determinators (East Dem.) in the first match at 18:00hrs to be followed by a showdown between Uitvlugt Warriors, the best side in the West side, and Northern Rangers.Final day round-of-16 play will be hosted at the Diamond Community Centre ground, East Bank Demerara where the East Bank flagship team, Grove Hi Tech battle Berbice’s New Amsterdam United. The supporting match brings together Ann’s Grove and Den Amstel from 18:00hrs.last_img read more

Week 16 Fantasy FLEX rankings

first_imgIt’s Week 16 and time to win your fantasy football championships, and we’re here with one final week of FLEX rankings. You’ve probably gotten to the finals with very good rosters, so you might not even need the full 120 names we have on hand, but they’re there if you need them. The biggest standout this week has to be Breshad Perriman, all the way up at No. 23 and totally deserving in a great matchup in maybe the pass-happiest offense in the league. There’s also the potential for a high Vikings RB if Dalvin Cook is out and either Alexander Mattison or Mike Boone is playing — whichever back starts there is no worse than a FLEX play. WEEK 16 NON-PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | KickerWhen you’re making these last-minute lineup decisions, it’s also important to consider your chances of winning your matchup (especially with some Saturday games potentially tipping the scales). As a heavy underdog, you may want to take a chance on a receiver with upside, like Justin Watson, while maybe you stick with a more boring option in a tough matchup like Carlos Hyde if you’re favored.WEEK 16 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight endOf course, your situations are all very context-based as you try to take home the crown, so if you have any specific Sunday morning questions, be sure to hit us up on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.
